In Celebration, Dr. Nancy Nealon.

As many of you know, Dr. Nancy Nealon, of the Judith Jaffe MS & Research Center at Weill Cornell, passed away in August. Our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Nancy. Nancy was a member of our board and offered us invaluable perspective on issues of patient care and MS research. She was generous with her time and brought our foundation to another level.

The Mind Brain Philanthropic Foundation, a supporter of the Judith Jaffe MS Center, dedicated the 2nd Annual MS Stand Up comedy research fundraiser to Dr. Nealon.

Proceeds from the event have been donated to the MS research efforts at Weill Cornell Medical College.

A Message from Our Founder, Regina Schroeder

Listen to Mind Brain Philanthropic Foundation founder, Regina Schroeder, describe her journey with Multiple Sclerosis and why she founded an organization to raise funds for solutions to mind brain diseases.  When Mind Brain Philanthropic MBPF learned that extraordinary MS research at Weill Cornell has unmet funding needs every year,  Ms. Schroeder and MBPF started MS Stand-Up, the annual comedy fundraisers to raise money to bridge the funding gaps that constantly arise in new research. This year’s money will support work led by Dr. Jennifer Linden as she seeks  develops new MRI  techniques and simple blood tests that could fundamentally change and hopefully improve the course of MS treatment.  Last year, Mind Brain Philanthropic was able to contribute $28,000 from the MS Stand Up fundraiser. This money served to keep the research going on repurposing drugs for use as remyelinators for MS until it could, and did,  acquire permanent funding.

Regina Schroeder talks about the mission of  the Mind Brain Foundation:

"Regina is a force of nature. She's quite a remarkable individual, a person of great integrity, and a person who innately gives whenever we ask something of her whether it's fundraising for Weill Cornell Medicine or for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

She doesn't hesitate to not just pitch in but really organize and drive the entire effort and this is despite her illness, her difficulty with walking, and severe fatigue. Despite those obstacles she is tireless, she never ever says no and she always gives it her all."
